Systems Engineer

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of server and LAN management experience working in corporate IT environment
  • Experience working with Microsoft “back office” products including: production experience with Windows 2008, Exchange Server 2003 or 2007, SQL 2005, and Active Directory
  • Experience working in internetworking environments including: configuration and management of Cisco switches, routers and ASA security devices
  • Desktop support in Windows Vista Environments
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Extensive experience working with non-technical end-users in a project
  • The ability to interface with corporate management

Desired Qualities Include

  • 2 years experience working as a technical consultant
  • Project management experience
  • A broad understanding of local – and wide-area networking technologies
  • MSCE+I or MCITP certification preferred
  • CCNA or CCNP certification
  • Experience using Windows 7
  • Undergraduate degree in four-year college
  • The ability to write detailed design and installation documents

  • Rapid deployments of Windows 2008 Server and Windows Vista
  • Design and deployment of file, print, messaging and other applications and solutions
  • Design and deployment of Windows Terminal Server and TSWeb
  • Design and deployment of local- and wide-area networks
  • Design and deployment of VoIP networks and systems

Job Description

Based on experience, the Systems Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the design, planning, and execution of server deployments, server migrations, system upgrades, and research and development at our clients headquartered in the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin areas. Day to day duties will include solution design, as well as project planning and management; high-level technical assistance in production IT environments; technical consultation with senior management; and the writing of documentation and project plans.
